FOMC Federal Funds Target Range

—
Observation date: —

How EFFR differs from the Target Range: The FOMC sets the target range (upper and lower bounds) as a policy objective, whereas the Effective Federal Funds Rate (EFFR) is the volume-weighted median interest rate of actual overnight unsecured federal funds transactions reported to the NY Fed each business day.

Term Structure Slope

10-Year Minus 2-Year Treasury Spread

—
Same-date observation: —

Calculated strictly from 10-Year and 2-Year par yields published on the exact same observation date. A positive value indicates an upward-sloping 2s10s segment; a negative value indicates a 2s10s yield curve inversion.

All values are stored and displayed in percentage units (e.g., 4.25 means 4.25%). Weekends and federal market holidays are never filled with synthetic values.

U.S. Treasury Par Yield Curve Rates

Published each business day by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The par yield curve relates the par yield on a security to its time to maturity and is based on closing market bid yields on actively traded over-the-counter Treasury securities. Includes bills (1M, 6W, 2M, 3M, 4M, 6M) and notes/bonds (1Y, 2Y, 3Y, 5Y, 7Y, 10Y, 20Y, 30Y).

Effective Federal Funds Rate (EFFR) & FOMC Target Range

Calculated and published each business day by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a volume-weighted median of overnight federal funds transactions. While the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) establishes the target range for the federal funds rate as a monetary policy stance, EFFR measures actual market transactions between depository institutions.

Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR)

Published each business day by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in cooperation with the Office of Financial Research. SOFR is a broad measure of the cost of borrowing cash overnight collateralized by U.S. Treasury securities in the repurchase agreement (repo) market, and serves as the primary U.S. dollar benchmark reference rate.
